Guts: Berserker (Bust) I'm normally not a fan of busts, but this one is a HUGE exception. It's nice to finally have a bigger face sculpt of Guts to show his battle scars in more detail. And what better scene to replicate than the time when Guts removes the helmet from his Berserker Armor for the first time? NONE OTHER. So kudos to Megatech for picking such an awesome scene to sculpt, but an extra kudos to John for bringing it to life! This kit was right up John's alley, with all the flesh tones and blood. I especially liked the way he painted the burned skin on the face. It definitely gives Guts a very weary and battered look, as he should have. As you can tell, there is a light source below the skull that shines into the kit, highlighting the pool of blood underneath Guts, as well as reflecting red light off the armor. I asked John to do this to depict the flames of the Berserker Beast that lies within Guts. Needless to say, I am QUITE PLEASED on how it turned out. It really looks like there is something burning inside Guts' soul! =) Thanks John! (note: all pictures by John Allred, himself)
