Guts: Black Swordsman So this is the 2nd kit that John Allred painted for me. Without a doubt, he did just a fantastic job with everything. His talent really amazes me and I'm so thankful to have him paint my Berserk kits. Just look at the detail! STUDY IT! For starters, check out the Dragon Slayer. Look how he painted the center of the blade. He really created depth to the sword. It's seriously hard to believe that it's just a piece of resin after he added so much texture to it. Then he carved in scars for me. If you look closely at his neck, face, and arms, you can see real indentations (he didn't just paint the scars in). And the face... Guts never looked more realistic. When I originally saw the sculpt of this kit, I wasn't sure if I liked the face too much. But man, the way John painted it, it completely changed my mind. He looks so bad-ass! Lastly, the base was custom-built... and seriously, John really hooked me up here. The severed demon head, the columns, the blood... he even made a place specifically for Yoda Puck to hover over!
